Manolia View, Mykonos

Mykonos is one of the Greek Islands that we visited as part of our honeymoon (sorry I know I keep mentioning it) last year. We spent 5 nights there and it was definitely one of our favourites, which is why we decided to come back again this year. We convinced four of our friends to join us this time round and so decided to book a villa type apartment to house us all...welcome to Manolia View.

And what a view it had! We had a two bedroom suite which had the cutest little blue doors leading on to a large terrace and private jacuzzi, overlooking the main pool....

...and fantastic views of Mykonos New Port.

The view from the main pool was OK too...

We took advantage of having our own little kitchen and had homemade Greek salad for dinner one evening.

Whilst taking in the beautiful sunset.

Now, to get views like that you can probably tell that we were pretty high up. If you look on the birds eye view, Manolia View isn't far from Mykonos Town at all, however when you factor in the gradient it definitely isn't walkable. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are happy to rent a car or a quad bike for your stay (even then the drive way up was pretty close to 90 degrees, so not for the faint hearted). So worth it for these views though.

Last year we stayed at two hotels in two different areas, Nissaki Boutique Hotel (Mrs B's choice) overlooking Psarou Beach and Myconian Utopia (my choice) which was at Elia Beach. Both were absolutely amazing and I would recommend them to anyone. Nissaki was the more accessible of the two as there were regular buses going from close to the hotel into town and also taxis were usually available within ten minutes to order. Elia Beach is beautiful but there isn't much else going on so again, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you are planning on staying close to the hotel (which we did as it was so amazing) or if you are happy to drive around and explore a bit. There are about 30 taxis on the whole of the island so if you are going in peak times you will struggle to get one to come to your hotel, especially if it is one of the more remote areas.

Last year we visited in September and visiting in August this year we could definitely notice the difference. We will most certainly go back to Mykonos again, but most likely it will be in September.

Stay tuned for more upcoming posts in my Mykonos series.

I would love to hear about your thoughts on Mykonos or your tips on where to stay.

Love Jade xxx
